Title: The silliest thing you saw today?

RedeyesUK - July 19, 2005 09:33 PM (GMT)
ok, just a thread to tell everyone what you've seen today that made you laugh, or was just stupid B)

i'll start:

i was driving through town today (nice day, warm and sunny) and i saw this girl crossing the road - normally dressed for the time of year, small top, mini skirt, etc, but....

she was wearing the BIGGEST moon boots i have ever seen - you know the really fluffy, hairy ones? she looked like she'd stuffed her feet into a couple of yorkshire terriers :D

this actually made me LOL, in fact i was perilously close to LMAOing. luckily i managed to control myself....

Just as well, you only get one "A", as i keep pointing out to Ashish who has laught his of rolling on the floor so many times I don't know where he gets them from! Do they do spare A's at Boots or somewhere? I guess they must

I like fluffy moon boots... its very Japanese ^_^

I tried to find some on Jlist... but it just came back with Porn! darn :(

JJW009 - July 20, 2005 10:23 PM (GMT)
Well, I've been out in the real world every day this week. Been to Cambridge twice, Bedford, Northampton, Daventry... up and down enough roads and met enough people, you'd think I'd seen one funny thing?

Not IRL <_<

This is pretty silly though. You think CPC had a problem with big distracting sig's ?

My Bank just sent me a Joke... Why do I want jokes from my Bank !!??

QUOTE (My Bank)

David Hasselhoff called his agent to tell him that from now on he just wanted to be known as Hoff.

"Sure David", replied his Agent, "no hassle."

RedeyesUK - July 28, 2005 12:34 AM (GMT)
hmm i think this is a good reason that bankers don't usually make good comedians. that was rubbish!

(and why were they sending you that? don't they have anything more important to do? like looking after your money??!??)

JJW009 - July 28, 2005 12:58 AM (GMT)

KindaWobbly - August 15, 2005 10:22 PM (GMT)
Well it wasn't today exactly, it was on Saturday at the Silverstone 1000km race, but here is the photographic evidence to show the silliness of trying to race sportcars though a lake (or Brooklands corner as it is more usually known)!

I found this website while trying to translate GullyG's Gailic sig... it amused me.

Sindarin:

Man i ven na Imladris?
Which way is it to Rivendell?

Romanian:

You can drink milk with a cup, but you can't cut wood with a cat.

Swedish:

Mitt huvud trillar av och det är fullt av godis.
My head falls off and it is full of candy.

Welsh:

A sheep has eaten my sandwiches!

etc....!!!

So that's where I've been going wrong! No wonder I never made it as a lumberjack.

JJW009 - September 6, 2005 12:59 AM (GMT)
Has anyone noticed the Google-Ads?

They used to be for Comics and things, now they're all for swords!!!

http://www.michaeldlong.com/

¿what have we been talking about?

:edit: actually they change every time you go back, but there were 3 different adverts for swords! Even promissing shipping to the UK...

RedeyesUK - September 6, 2005 01:24 AM (GMT)
i liked them when the site was still on that s12 address - you used to see things like 'click here for bargains on s12'

:D :D

i tell you what is silly though - i spent ages creating a post on here about an hour ago, it was great, it had images, links and everything. now i've come back on, it's not here!

maybe it wasn't silly enough..... :(

"it can eat and drink till a morning"

Any old morning? Clearly not tomorow morning!

Now there's a resteraunt that knows how to party

RedeyesUK - September 7, 2005 12:10 AM (GMT)
and it's always good to know that the foods were 'created by someone'.

otherwise it could have been scraped off the road or anything!

but just remember to bring along 'your own special person' <_<

RedeyesUK - September 7, 2005 05:00 AM (GMT)
and after partying down all night at 'who's food', maybe you'd like to have a nice breakfast and a coffee with 'your own special person':

was just doing a bit of tidying this morning, and found this book:

user posted image

a friend gave it to me years ago, when i was about 14 or so. i think he was trying to tell me something....

i've just been having a read through it, it's basically a manual for chavs, '80s style. it's meant to be a parody, but some things ring scarily true!

check it out:

QUOTE
On a Ford Capri or Cortina, you can wreak a really stunning transformation by fitting the following refinements:

1. Autoplas whaletail or quatrofoil boot spoiler
2. Fog lamps with chequered covers
3. Supernumerary brake lights
4. Go Faster stripes
.
.
.
8. Giant exhaust in gleaming chrome, preferably of the 'bolt-on' variety, ie serving practically no purpose whatsoever
9. San Fransisco number plate
10. Green tinted sunstripe for the windscreen, with your name and your girlfriend's stencilled on it

QUOTE
Wally etiquette consists of the following crucial poits:

1. When travelling on the tube, you will entertain other passengers by swinging from the straps like a monkey, chasing other wallies up and down the carriage, and needlessly obstructing the doors with your foot.

2. When travelling on a main-line train, it is essential to sit in the luggage rack, scratch your initials on the mirrors, and when leaving, open the door and spring out before the train has stopped moving.

just goes to show some things just don't change, eh? :D

RedeyesUK - September 28, 2005 06:42 AM (GMT)
not so much something i saw, but something i heard.....

the hotel i work at has the obligatory mind-numbing muzak dribbling through the reception areas, it's controlled by a computerised music system. this morning i was finishing my shift, and i heard a classic/opera version of Queens' 'Flash Gordon'

all i can say is that it sounded...well, odd. to say the least!

a silly cover version of a silly theme song to a silly film. it doesn't come much better than that!

what worries me though is that several people, not just one random nutcase, but several people actually considered this to be a good enough idea to produce it

paulpowers - September 28, 2005 07:45 AM (GMT)
