Went to a Michelin star restaurant for my birthday. That was the main dish. The courses were:

Salmon bhaji, duck thing, rice crispy wotnot with a cherry in

Water with cucumber in - might have been for washing our hands, but we drank it anyway.

Pea soup with tomato bread

glass of nondescript fizzy wine

crabby blob with a "rich seafood sauce"

(pictured) pigeon breast wrapped in parma ham served with blobs of beetroot and spinach "surprise" parcels.

Jelly, custard and ice-cream.

Picture © my mate with his D40 and 18mm macro lens.

Total cost £35 plus tip. I left 5 £Scottish because the service really was rather good, although the waiters were incredibly creepy. I still think it was a great deal.
