Title: Dreams And Nightmares
Description: From your head, in to this thread.
JJW009 - November 20, 2009 12:34 AM (GMT)
I'm always having weird dreams, and this week has been especially productive. Some of my dreams are almost like being in a film so I thought I'd reproduce what I remember. Some are easier to analyse than others.
The Nightmare of Jim Carrey and Ivor the Engine
So, last night I was standing in the street with a friend (no idea who, probably a composite) watching a bunch of very badly drawn animé girls doing battle with an evil Ivor the Engine. Then from behind a voice in Japanese comes over the PA explaining something.
I remember saying "Shh! That bit's in English" and caught the gist that this was a promotion for Jim Carrey's latest 3D movie, a prequel where The Mask was a steam engine, and there was a limited viewing premier right now. Everyone stampeded towards the box office, crushing us in the process.
Heavy Machinery
This dream was right in the middle of the night so I don't remember the entire scenario so clearly, but I was in a tall building in a city. The walls began to shudder with a slow periodic pounding, and looking out of the window I could see the most enormous machine stepping down the street. I hid under the bed, as you do.
The machine stopped outside my building, and everything started to shake violantly as it fork-lifted the entire structure off the ground and made off with it. There was much screaming.
It carried us miles away to place resembling a giant scrap yard where many other machines had kidnapped many other buildings. We were all queued up, and the rather horrific realisation came that this was an extermination camp. I'm not sure if it was for ethnic cleansing, purely random or perhaps tax related crimes - but one by one the buildings were being crushed flat. I woke up just before my head was going to pop.
So, any good dreams recently?
RedeyesUK - November 20, 2009 12:41 AM (GMT)
I'm not very good with dreams - I very rarely have any that I remember the next morning, and the ones I do have tend to fade away after a few hours. :(
However, Mrs R is a regular dream factory, so I'm sure she'll have a few contributions to this thread!
Mrs Redeyes - January 15, 2010 01:22 PM (GMT)
Gosh it's taken me a long time to get back to this, sorry :(
I am the most epic and prolific dreamer I know. I have never met anyone who dreams as much, as often, as memorably and as actively as I do and I think it's related to my extremely vivid imagination. I dream completely interactively, in technicolour and it spills into my sleep activity as well, I am more likely to talk in my sleep if I'm dreaming (and you can ask Mr Red how much I talk in my sleep :D )
I have several reoccuring dreams and a couple of nightmares which come back again and again but I also have a varied and frequent supply of brand new dreams, many of which leave me with a general feeling of "WTF-ness" (like last nights for instance) my reoccuring dreams are:
Queen Bee:
I am the Queen Bee in a hive, I have many workers and an armed guard to follow me around my daily duties. The odd thing (to my mind) about this dream is that all the other bees in the dream are just people I know (never strangers) dressed up as bees, and I'm dressed in a bee-coloured ball gown with a crown and feelers on my head.
I'm definitely in a beehive though and I can fly in the dream. I am usually doing one of a few things in my dream, either a) interviewing suitors for my affections to create the next generation of baby bees, 2) flying about the hive meeting the workers and talking to them about the hive or iii) flying outside the hive, looking at the surroundings and making plans for pollination.
Never very exciting (except once when a wasp got in the hive) but a nice entertaining and calm dream.
Going into Space:
Almost always with some odd form of transport (the last time I had it, I was going into space in a hotel) it starts with me finding out that I've been chosen as the only person going on a mission into space. I usually get sent to the form of space transport in a limo and I arrive quite confident and secure in the knowledge that whatever it is is fit for purpose.
I always take off for space sitting in some form of easy chair with a cocktail beside me and I'm never particularly put-out by takeoff. It takes only a few minutes to get into outer space and then I don my space suit and go outside of the vehicle for my space-walk.
I associate this dream with being a daredevil, having a very adventurous feeling that's not coming out in my daily life, but also being very confident in my abilities and knowing that everything will come out alright, even if I am flying to outer space in a wheelie bin
My dreams are usually quite epic and I wake up feeling as though I've had a huge adventure of watched an amazing movie, it's quite nice. Sometimes I start dreaming before I've even fallen asleep properly and start talking about what's going on to Red which he finds hilarious.
I think that Nightmares probably go hand-in-hand with active dreamlife so I try not to let them get to me too much. Again I have a couple of 'mares which happen with varying frequency depending on lifes circumstances:
In Jail
I wake up in a jail cell, I'm shackled to the wall although I might as well not be because I can travel all over my cell without taking up all of the slack. I am underground and I can tell because there is a barred window at the very top of my cell, maybe a foot high and a foot wide which I can just reach to pull myself up to. The window is at street level and I can see peoples feet passing by my cell window although they can never hear me when I shout to them.
The number of days I am locked up varies with the dream, but always at night time I am hanging from the bars of the window looking out at the sky and I can see a large greenish flow of something jelly-like approaching the window, it seems to be coming from all directions and is moving quite quickly so I jump down from the window and start towards my matress to use it to block up the window, only my bed has gone and the green goo is already pouring in through my window. The door is solid and the cell just fills up with the gelatinous, runny substance, taking me up with it towards the ceiling.
As the cell fills, I have less and less air available to breathe and I start to panic, swimming to the window to try and wiggle the bars loose, but nothing I do helps at all. Eventually I can't keep my head above the level of green anymore so I sink down and I can see it flowing back out of the window where the cell has filled completely, then just as I suffocate I wake up with a jump.
I used to be really strongly affected by this dream when I was younger, but I think on some level my brain now understands it's just a dream, usually happening when I feel trapped into a particular course of action, or when I'm skint and I just seem to play along with it. I don't even usually stay awake long afterwards anymore.
Chased
This dream starts in a summer house, I'm laying on a chaise in a summer house looking out onto a huge expanse of well-maintained garden, a long lawn stretches away from me, sloping downwards to a river with a bridge over it and a small island in the middle. I can see a forest the other side of the bridge and it's always a gorgeous sunny day.
I hear someone call to me and I stand up, listening for them to call again. I hear footsteps coming towards the summer house and all of a sudden I'm absolutely terrified, I know without a doubt that if whoever is calling me actually finds me it will mean nothing but pain, torture, agony and death.
I creep slowly to the door of the summer house and judge that I have enough time to run to the bridge, which I do, dropping my shoes in the process so I don't make any noise.
Usually at this point I notice that I'm dressed in full "Jane Austen" corseted and skirted glory and start cussing the impracticality of my attire :D but I make it to the bridge and I stop on the other side to listen and see if I've been discovered. My heart is pounding really loudly and I can't seem to catch my breath, but I quiet everything enough to listen and I hear footfalls on the other side of the bridge and see a shape moving stealthily towards the summer house.
I'm completely petrified at seeing whoever it is (not someone I know in real life) and as he comes back out of the summer house and starts to look around I get the feeling that he's trying to follow a scent, he turns his head to both sides and slowly starts to look towards the bridge. As I see him decide on the bridge and start walking slowly towards it I have to decide in a split second whether to try and hide or whether to run.
I look at the forest behind me and I'm not afraid of it, it's got that light airy quality of a sunny day and trees that aren't too close together, so I take off running away from the bridge into the trees. I'm looking for a tree to climb, and I pick up a sturdy piece of wood to use as a bat, but I can't seem to get grip on any trunks with my hands and feet and so I have to keep running. I move into a darker part of the forest and suddenly I'm not quite so secure anymore, I stop for a breather and imagine that I can hear footfalls behind me, but they don't sound like a person anymore, they sound like a dog or something running on 4 legs, so I gather up my skirts again and run for my life.
I come to what looks like the edge of a bluff, the ground drops away beneath me down a very long way to a river. The roots of the trees around the edge of the bluff are all growing out of the ground, twisting around each other and I make my way along one edge of bluff before doubling back and heading along the other edge of the bluff to leave a false trail. I find a particularly knarled and twisted tree with huge roots and dig my way between a couple of the roots, making myself a tunnel behind them, hoping to use them as a hiding place.
Just as I finish, wiggle into the space I've created and try to quiet my breathing I hear the footfalls of my pursuer. I hide, pushing myself back as far as possible into my hidey-hole, the disadvantage is that I can't see what's happening outside, I'm so covered by roots and that causes a rising wave of panic.
I hear the steps fading away and I start to calm down, until I hear them approaching again, I start to feel very trapped and wodner if I should break out and try to run again, but I hear snuffling and sniffing outside my hiding place so I stay perfectly still.
I don't have to wait long, the sounds and footsteps fade away and I dare to peek out of my hiding place. I can see something far below me in the distance and it looks as though he's gone down the bluff and carried on, hoping to catch up with me. I wait for ages, hiding behind the roots and when I've calmed down completely I wriggle out of my hiding place and start to run back through the forest towards the bridge. I get to the bridge and haven't been followed so I feel a mixture of safety, relief and fading terror at what could have been. I cross over the bridge to the other side and I wake up just as the person I have thought was gone jumps up from behind a bush on the other side with a gigantic hook and stabs me through the shoulder with it.
I always wake up from that dream completely terrified, disorientated and it takes me ages to get back to sleep again afterwards. I think it's the range of emotions that the dream takes me through which is so hard to deal with. I'm perfectly happy and enjoying a nice day, then I'm petrified, then I'm running and being chased, then I'm terrified again when I'm hiding, then relieved as I think the person is gone, then safe and happy again as I get back to the bridge and then there's a final absolute and total horror as the realisation of my greatest fears surprises me and hooks me.
So, what do you think?
I've always been nervous of recording my dreams anywhere because I've always heard that listening to other peoples dreams is the one thing that people find the most boring. I note them down occasionally when I want to remember them or when they've been particularly random.
I have dreamed prophetically a few times in the past and those are always interesting, very intense and they stay with me afterwards for a very long time.

Last Nights
I should first explain that one of my bosses Charlotte was proposed to during a Xmas shopping holiday in New York this year, she and her fella Tim (who also works at Speedo) are getting married this year in August I think.
My dream last night was set in a huge underground complex which reminds me of the Hive in those films with that woman. Umm *goes to look it up* Resident Evil.
When you were down there it was all light and airy just like a big office block above ground. I was in my office doing paperwork when Tim stuck his head round the door and asked if I could help him with his wedding present for Charlotte. I went into his lab area and he had an enormous fishtank set up, with little tubes leading into other sections (a bit like a rotastack hamster house) some parts were overgrown with plants and other bits were clean and just had pebbly decks with massive pieces of driftwood it was really spectacular.
Tim said that he had been setting up the tank for the last month, the plants had all taken and he was checking the water and it looked as though the cycle of waste removal was ok, and that he was about to put his first fish in, but since he knows I'm into fishkeeping he wanted to ask me about the kinds of fish to put in the tank.
He turned around and showed me rows and rows of little tanks, like the ones you find in fish shops, with tons of different kinds of fish in them. When I got closer and started having a look I couldn't recognise any of the fish, they were all completely alien species to me and some of them looked like they had developed features of other animals, some of them had the faces of cats complete with whiskers, the dog-faced fish had little black noses it was all really odd.
Tim said that he'd been developing these fish for Charlotte because they couldn't have any other pets, so this way he figured Charlotte could have to dogs and cats she'd always wanted, just in a fishtank.
And then I woke up. :(

Projecting
My dream last night was about the Papyrus "Museum" that Red and I visited while we were in Egypt. My dream went very much along the vein of the actual visit, walking in, meeting our "guide" and having tea while we got a lesson in papyrus making.
Then we were walking around looking at all the pictures trying to choose what we wanted and our guide was walking around with us, talking about the pictures we were seeing and he kept making these almost comedic slips in his language which he attributed to his English not being brilliant.
These slip-ups were making me feel really nervous, although Red seemed not to have noticed, the one I remember clearly was when I was looking at a papyrus picture of the head of Queen Nefertiti but it had some chalk-like smudges on it which I commented on and our guide said "don't worry, we'll clean you out" and then when I looked at him questioningly he repeated "don't worry, we'll clean it up" and then I wasn't sure if I'd heard his first version.
When we'd made our choices and agreed a price, I'd made a comment like "No, no, we've spent enough" and gave him my debit card to take the payment, he said he had to go and get the terminal and walked off and I thought I heard him say "Not enough, never enough" and I turned around and noticed the credit card terminal on the desk where he'd just been.
He came back a few minutes later, but now had a demons head, not a cartoon, comical devil head, a proper scary "Buffy" demon head and I was totally distracted from the fact that he'd come back with another credit card terminal when there was already one on the desk. It was even more distracting that when I looked at Red he just rolled his eyes up and smiled as though saying "these Egyptians, what are they like?" I paid for the papyrus and we left the shop, then when we got back into the car I said "didn't you notice his demons head?" and Red hadn't noticed at all.
I woke up and immediately thought "oh yes, you're projecting" because the thing is, the last time (and only time recently) that my card has been out of my sight was at the papyrus shop and I didn't realise that until after my dream. I've been thinking back and everywhere I've spent money since, I've had my card in full view all the time and even the shopping online has been at secure websites. So now I can't wait to find out what the Wide have to say about where the transactions are from and set my mind at rest.
JJW009 - March 2, 2010 11:49 PM (GMT)
I've dream a lot about water. I had some today;
The first started on a motorway, which is no surprise given the 6 hours I spent on the M6 today. I was driving fast, and my first opponent was the MU football van which finally moved out of the way. The next was a crazy pickup with a crane on the back. This guy was annoyed when I as an upstart racer overtook him on the inside, leaving his crane swinging around alarmingly.
It was like a video game, and when I won I was in an arena for the costume change for the next race. The crowd were not on my side, and the character I was given was not a good macho fighter or mecha, but some woman.
So, dressed in this fluffy outfit I went down to the dock to get into the boat. I can see this dock really clearly still, but the main feature is the lack of water and the preponderance of thick black slimy mud which totally got inside my shoes and trousers. Another woman opened slouces to let the water in, but all that really came in was more mud. I never did get to the boat before I briefly woke up.
The next thing, I was struggling up a hill on my hands and knees right along side people's back windows. One of them opened their window and was talking to me while I was clinging onto what was practically a cliff face. They were telling me about plans to flood the valley to turn it into a 4 hectare swimming pool. My window was just a little further, but by the time I reached it water was flooding out through it.
I'm not sure who I was with, but we made plans to head south towards Cornwall. Someone was going to meet us at a copse on a hill, and I remember saying we'd find it no problem if we just followed the rising sun and kept to the high ground. Apparently the sun didn't rise in the East...
All this water reminded my of a recurring dream I have about a stream going through thick woods. I always follow the stream down and it gets bigger and more violent until it eventually spills out into vast open lakes. I usually have to negotiate the lakes by jumping on lily pads

Move along, nothing to see here.
I wish I dreamt more. :(
Mrs Redeyes - March 4, 2010 07:56 PM (GMT)
I had two dreams last night, one where I was working as a waitress in a restaurant, it was like a Beefeater type and was quite nice. I'd only just started and was learning the ropes but I loved it, getting to know the people and the staff, developing a relationship with the chef etc. Nothing particularly exciting happened, it was just a nice comfy dream.
I fell back to sleep after my usual 4am loo break, into a dream where I'd lost all the weight I'd wanted but my skin hadn't gone back into shape and I had huge folds of it hanging all over me. The NHS wouldn't help so Garry got to work one day with a pair of shears and a stapler. I woke up feeling quite upset and I'm now wakingly a bit paranoid about it...I suppose I can always go private if I have to!!
Night before last I had a "Mighty Boosh" dream where Howard and Vince were working in an Aquarium instead of a Zoo. Howard had to feed the sharks and told Vince he couldn't think of a better way to do it than by taking the food into the tank himself and feeding them by hand!?!?
This prompted a watching of episode 2 last night with dinner and I was better prepared for it this time so was able to enjoy it much more.!!
Dream on....
JJW009 - March 4, 2010 08:42 PM (GMT)
EGL told me her dream today, and that involved lots of water too.
She was driving along and a stream flooded, getting so deep the car was floating. Her dad was with her, and she wanted to take a short cut through a cemetery.
I thought it was quite a coincidence given recent posts
My dream I remembered this morning was the usual smut, but involved our accounts lady while EGL stood there pointing and laughing at us :whip:
Mrs Redeyes - March 18, 2010 08:43 AM (GMT)
Surreal Nightmare
I woke up at about 03:30 this morning and when I went back to sleep I fell into a dream where I was 16 or 17, living in a council houe with a guy I'd been friends with for years since we were very small and we'd been dating since we'd hit puberty, his mum also lived in the house but we all got on very well. We had that casual friendship bordering on relationship thing and had another close friend, like Nick Frosts character in Spaced, very into tanks and army stuff etc.
When I entered the dream I was in our bathroom with my boyfriend looking down at another girl whos name was Tracy. She was lying curled up on the lid of the toilet seat and asleep, the guy who was my boyfriend was stroking her haior and asking if she could live with us. I replied that of course she could and since she seemed comfy she could sleep in the bathroom.
I went back into our bedroom, and our other friend was outside the window waving up to me from his new retro-fit tank, and I knew my boyfriend was in the bathroom having sex with Tracy so I didn't call him out to see. When he eventually did come out I told him about the tank and said very clearly "you can have random sex with as many random women as you want, but I know you love me, you always have and you will always come back to me"
Cut to a car in the dark, I was following Tracy in her car without her seeing me, my boyfriend had done something to her and she was afraid so she'd run away from us, I was sitting at a roundabout (going right onto it instead of left btw) and the roundabout was being controlled by the Police because of an incident. Another girl got into my car and sat there while we were waiting talking about how she'd had a new thumb fitted but she wasn't sure it suited her and what did I think?!
I had a look at her thumb and it was black with a green fingernail whereas all the rest of her fingers were normal. I said that I thought the variety was quite striking and she seemed happy with that and got out of the car as the traffic began to move onto the roundabout. I went down the sliproad onto the motorway the other side, ti find traffic being turned around and having to go back the way we'd come.
At some point I caught up with Tracy and convinced her to come home with me so we could all sit down and sort this out between us. I took her home to find our house all dark with black candles lit everywhere, my boyfriends mum was on the phone to the council trying to get them to fix something or other and I remember thinking how rude, unpleasant and completely different to normal she sounded.
Tracy and I went through to the living room and it was stripped bare of furniture, lit by black candles and full of people I didn't know. The curtains to the big patio doors were open as well and there were more people in the garden, lined up as though they were going to watch a film or show or something.
My boyfriend grabbed Tracy and told her she was never going to leave him again, I tried to fend him off but a few of the people in the room grabbed me and slammed me back against the wall next to the patio doors. As I watched, my boyfriend had chained Tracy (who was now wearing a black latex catsuit) over a box and was using a Barbie doll as a dildo in full view of everyone watching. Then, when she was crying, he unchained her, dropped her on the floor in front of me and took a huge syringe full of stuff, which he proceeded to inject into her neckwith a massively broad needle.
She stopped crying and starting screaming really loudly, which is when I noticed that he'd stopped injecting her and was now sucking her blood out into the syringe. He'd started some kind of syphon 'cos when he pulled the syringe off the needle her blood was just pouring all over the carpet. I was crying and asking him why he was doing it and trying to find a towel to soak up the blood...which is when I woke up :(
I have my own thoughts about why I had this 'mare, but I'd be interested in any opinions......
Mrs Redeyes - March 30, 2010 10:27 AM (GMT)
Queen College??
Last nights epic which ran until about 03:30 was to do with me visiting some friends at their dorms in the college they went to, it was a college which seemed to train women either as Victorian maids and serving girls, or (special girls) to be Queen.
The dream has faded somewhat since this morning, but it involved me finding a spare bed in my friends dorm room, applying for it and getting it for the new term (about to start) and then enroling myself on a course to learn how to be a silver service waitress and serving girl for a family, including nannying duties and IT consultant!?
Very odd, but quite enjoyable, there was a nightclub involved somehow as well (it was all set in modern times) and a big black man who wanted to take me home, but only so I could polish the silver brandy flask his parents gave him when he was 18.

Mrs Redeyes - April 12, 2010 09:11 AM (GMT)
Hollywood Inspired?
I had a range of nightmares last night, themes pulled from a variety of influences including some films I've only ever seen the trailer/read the DVD case for :o
The first (and worst) was about me living in a remote town in the back of beyond (USA) in a much more terrifying "Tremors" situation with werewolves and no way to escape, they were just going to hang around until they killed every last resident of my town. I was hiding in a barricaded house, all the windows and doors boarded up, no way in or out (for me or them) and rationing my food to last as long as possible. I had one window upstairs with a knothole in the wooden barricade from which I could see down the main drag of the town and keep an eye on what was going on.
When I woke up, I had just realised that there was a breach in my defences (from the crawlspace under the house) and one of the animals had wormed itsway under the house and was pushing up the hatchway to get in. I knew if it actually got in I was dead (or worse than dead?) so I was piling heavy furniture over the hatchway to discourage it, hoping it would go away and I could board this entry up as well.
I had managed to push the hatch closed again and could hear the scuffling of the animal making it's way back out from under the hosue, when I heard a cracking sound and turned to see a huge black monsterous wolf hurl itself through the boarded window and reach for my throat.
I actually had the sensation of having my throat ripped out before I woke up, the sudden inability to breathe, the pain and terror and it was a very jumpy Mrs R who made her way slowly out to the loo after waiting for the panic to subside. One of my more graphic dreams of late I think and one I'll be happy to never repeat!!
After my loo break I went back to sleep and fell into an uneasy cycle of "30 Days of night" which we watched a little while ago, with some "The Hills have Eyes" and "The Human Centipede" (which I've never seen)
I had another wake-up and loo break (by which time it was about 4am) and I dozed through a series of "Hostel" and "28 Days Later" 'mares until my alarm went off at 05:30.
Quite a busy night scare-wise, I'm hoping that doesn't repeat itself too often otherwise I might have to stop watching scary movies :(
Mrs Redeyes - May 11, 2010 10:57 AM (GMT)
Sunshine and Slugs
Not exactly sure about this dream, the themes all got a bit mixed up and turned quite surreal in places.
It started on a green, grassy hill, but a cartoon hill, like the colour green you see in Anime, with the grass all waving in the wind. Little flowers popped up all over the hill and I was sitting on the top of the hill looking out across a wide open valley with trees at the bottom. The sun was shining and there were odd butterfly-looking things fluttering about the place but it was all very serene, I was just sitting, enjoying the view and relaxing.
After a little while I could hear a funny noise, quite loud and slithery like something moving through the undergrowth, I turned around and saw a huge slug, sliding its way up the hill to the top. I didn't move, I wasn't scared at all, it was a big cartoony slug and was smoking a long pipe, it had little arms and as it slithered past me and carried on down the hill to the trees, it took the pipe out of its mouth and waved, saying a cheery hello.
Once it had disappeared into the trees, a hot air balloon rose up from behind the trees and flew down the valley, and it was so quiet I could hear a really loud argument coming from the basket, a woman (it sounded like) was really berrating whoever she was with in the basket and the only response I could hear was low mumbling.
The hot air balloon vanished into the distance and I settled down again to watch the valley and relax. It was now that things got (or felt in the dream) really surreal. I laid down on the grass to look at the clouds and was immediately surrounded by little tiny babies, trying to pin me to the ground, they were all giggling and chatting away to each other quite happily and although they looked like babies, they were walking normally and were quite strong. Once they had me pinned to the ground, I was landed on by an assortment of brightly-coloured insects which made their way up my body to say thank you for something. As each one said its thanks, it hopped off my shoulder and flew away.
The babies covered me in a blanket made out of the grass of the hillside and I could feel it taking hold of me, as though it were growing roots into my skin, and as it slowly grew up over my head I remember thinking quite clearly that I couldn't think of a nicer place to spend forever.
I woke up, feeling quite peaceful and rested, as though I really had been on that hillside relaxing, but the themes are all a muddle and I can't really make out any meaning.
Perhaps I'm not supposed to :D

Lamarmageddon
This was a few nights ago but I've not remembered / had a chance to get it down.
I was in a field explaining to the lamas and goats that they were there to look after the sheep, who are a bit stupid and weedy.
"Protect them from what?" said a goat.
"Me" said the lama.
This red-eyed flaming horny lama proceeded to rampage amongst the flock, tossing sheepses and goatses into the blood red sky.
T'was carnage :o
Mrs Redeyes - August 18, 2010 07:40 AM (GMT)
Last nights dream was like the story of a movie. I was with 2 guys and we'd just moved into a basement apartment in a city I've never been to before. We had a living room with a kitchen leading off it, an old lift shaft which had been converted into a shower. When we moved in there was a whole load of rubbish, newspapre clippings etc and the landlord told us that the tenant before us had been obsessed by reports of the death of a teenage girl in the building.
We started going through the paper clippings, reading them and making jokes about the previous tenant, but after a day or so I started hearing screams in the night that were quickly cut short. I was starting to get a bad feeling about the apartment, things moving in the shadows etc and I didn't like being there alone.
I decided to do a full clean from top to bottom, get the blinds off the windows to let light in and generally un-fusty the place. I was working late and both the guys (no idea who they were btw) were sitting on the sofa and the tv was on. There were rusty reddish stains in drips down the wall so I was up on a chair with a bottle of spray cleaner and a cloth.
I turned around on the chair to talk to the guys and the shower cubicle was in my direct line of sight, to my horror it was lit from inside and there was a teenage girl inside, it didn't look like our shower anymore but had returned to the dirty inside of a lift shaft. The girl was looking up and screaming and just then something fell on her inside the shaft. I was screaming too by this point and rushed over to the shower, but it was just a shower again, nothing inside.
The guys laughed at me hallucinating, but as I turned back to the wall I'd been cleaning, the rusty red marks had formed themselves into words, peoples names, places dates, all in rows down the wall. The guys could see them too and one of them wrote things down as I read them out. When I'd finished the list, the walls went clear and the entire apartment changed, became much lighter and more airy, a bright fresh smell wafted over us and the shadows vanished.
We were in bed that night talking over what to do with the list, and I could hear whispering which seemed to be coming from all around us, the walls were whispering the names and places and dates that we'd written down earlier. In the end one of the guys said that we'd better go to the Police and tell them what we'd seen, at which point the walls stopped whispering.
Then I woke up.

School and Vampires
The details are starting to get a bit hazy now.
My first epic dream was about being in school, not my school, I suspect it was a very old-fashioned school, there was fagging and beating, horrible uniforms and miserable classes. The one class I remember clearly was a Chemistry class and now I come to think about it, I felt a bit like Sam Tyler in Life on Mars, I was quite out of my time, in the class kids were doing experiments with Bromine and Acids, no safety equipment, no fume hoods and there were quite a lot of explosions. I was trying to warn people and stop them using these dangerous things without PPE but nobody would listen.
The rest of the dream was just ordinary school classes, day-to-day life at a boarding school although there were no holidays that I remember.
I woke up and went to the loo, then back to sleep and I had a dream about living in a little seaside town, nothing out of the ordinary (I was a teenager though) and then a coach party of elderly people came to the seaside for the day, they were quite different to your usual elderly beach group, they were on all the fairground rides, dancing to the music from the band on the seafront and a couple of them were even rollerskating along the seafront.
Later as night fell, they'd whipped up all the locals into a massive beach party and all the old people started growing fangs and becomming vampires, jumping on the locals and biting them. I was part of a group of other teenagers who were "being cool" and sitting apart from the grown-ups, but we'd apparently been expecting trouble because we all drew holy water guns, stakes and crosses and set about killing all the vampires. One of the kids was the daughter of a vicar who arrived later and blessed the sea, turning the tide into holy water, so we simply drove all the remaining vampires into the water where they burned and turned to dust.
I woke up with my alarm as we were watching the ashes drift out with the morning tide.

3 recent dreams. I don't have time to go into detail, so here's a few key phrases to remind me later:
1. Silent Hill. Jugglers. Bartering. Unsure soothsayers. One Euro coins and alien pennies.
2. Vampires. Hiding in the bushes. Big cats, little cats indoors and out. Equal rites.
3. Mum reversing. Wine station also sells petrol. Trailers, caravans and trucks.

Yesterday and the day before I had some fairly lucid dreams of role playing D&D where the various tones my alarm used seemed to somehow interact with the game. Was all rather good fun.

The night before last I had a very long involved dream in which I woke up in the house I currently live in (with Mr Red) but I was still with my ex-husband. In the dream I woke up thinking that my current life was the dream, but bsolutely certain that Mr R was real and was out there somewhere just waiting for me.
I packed up all my stuff from the house and piled it all into Horace and then set out, firstly I went down to where Mr Red works currently but they'd never heard of him, they were all incredibly freaked out that I knew who they all were and knew things about them and their company and I told them that when I found Mr Red I would get him to apply for a job there.
I then left and drove to Reds Mums house, she was at work so I had to wait on her doorstep until she came home. She was lovely (she is) and sat me down with a cup of tea while I explained all about the dream and that I was trying to find her son. I was able to tell her things that only I would know, how her house used to be laid out, all the things I know about her, Lorraine, Darren, Reds Dad etc etc and she had no choice but to believe me.
She gave me the mobile number she had for Red (which is the same number he has in real life obviously) and she called him while I was sitting there in her living room. She explained everything to him and he said he'd come over right away. He was living in Stratford on College Farm and drove to his Mums that afternoon.
When he arrived, it was just like we'd always known each other and was pretty much a carbon copy of how we actually met in real life. He just couldn't get over how I knew everything about him, as the longer we talked the more and more familiar we became. We spent the whole night sitting up in his mums living room just talking, catching up and being amazed at being together.
It was a really nice familiar and comfy dream, all about that fantastic feeling of finding your perfect person, realising they feel the same and the wave of euphoria and contentment that settles over you.
Last night I had a slightly different dream, it was an old-people dream where Red and I were both retired, travelling about seeing all the places we hadn't visited before. It was a really nice inspiring sort of dream with an underlying feeling of being settled and happy.
I woke up both days with a smile B)

I suppose with the carbon copies it should have been quite comforting.

Dream last night was really odd.
A small girl turned into a little furry monkey type creature. I started crying sunflower seeds, which the monkey plucked from my left eye with spindly little finders and ate. I could feel the seeds squeezing through my tear duct
Later the seeds turned into kidney beans which we kept in a jar. Except they weren't real beans; they were more like kidney stones that looked like beans. They didn't taste very nice. :mmm:

Three memorable dreams that I've dreamt:
1. I'm running around a scrap yard and trying to look for something/someone. The entire scene is purple - like looking through a purple lens. The scrapyard has towers of cars. There's a huge monster robot that I'm trying to hide from but never see. Turns out I'm trying to find KITT from Knight Rider except he's in a stack of vehicles that have not been crushed but he has been damaged by the robot.
2. Very weird. I dreamt I was in a barn in the middle of nowhere. There's huge empty banquet type table down the middle. Suddenly Mumm-Ra and LionO are battling it out (in cartoon form) and burst through the barn entrance. I'm hiding somewhere. Think it was under the table or in the rafters.
3. A semi-lucid dream. I can't recall how it starts. In real life, there was a girl I had a mega-crush on. Turns out she is at a camp near a lake. I somehow get there and try to find her. When I can't, I float into the air and start flying around the lake to find her. The alarm goes off just before she turns her head to me. Very frustrating.
