hello people.

my question today is. what are those triangule shaped rice things with the bit of seaweed on the bottom.

i know there a bit of a symbol in japan but i can rember what their called.

any ideas

Always reminds me of Fruits Basket; Honda-san was "Rice Ball" ... at least that was the translation I read; I'll have to dig it out and re-read it!

I make rice that way all the time... but I never added the seaweed (can't buy it in Tesco!). I usually make the triangle shape - KW may remember from a couple of weeks ago ^__^

JJ you ever put anything in them or leave them as just rice>???

I usually just dip them in soy sauce and chili - yum :)

I have put things in, but you just can't get the right things without going to a specialist shop... although some stuff you can get mail-order, dried and shrink-wrapped !!!

hmmmm.....ok pokey. i know i'll get my mum to ask this japanise guy she knows at work what to try and were to buy. he likes like a cool guy.

there is a FABulous restaurant in my town that sells bento boxes....and onigiri are FAB stuff!

that just completly unfair. i have to go all the way to norwich to even think of looking for this kinda of stuff.
