Title: Original Content
Description: which amuses

JJW009 - May 21, 2007 09:59 PM (GMT)
Most of the things on this forum are funny stuff we've seen elsewhere, and it's good to share but there has been some original Yourwired content produced by you guys which has been washed away in the tide of copy pasta.

Thus, this thread is going to have rules! Original content only please! That means stuff that you made, pictures you took, jokes you thought up. Stuff that when you see it elsewhere, you know they copied it from us and not the other way around!

Of course, it's hard to be original and creative. There's some good freaky creative stuff going on in the NSFW forum, but I thought we should have something less... well, vagina oriented! So, more pussies and less pussy!

There will be prizes. Big big prizes! Very very cheap big big prizes!

Thank you

Errmmm.

I have never thought of myself as creative but there have been a few moments of inspiration.

So what would you suggest then?

Nice one!

If you want car bits in strange places, I'm the guy to ask - being a) a batchelor, and b ) a petrolhead.

If I'd have thought about it last night, you could have seen that (well, bits of it anyway) in the kitchen sink... B)

JJW009 - May 22, 2007 09:15 PM (GMT)
One of the houses I stayed at had bits of a motorbike soaking in petrol in a bowl in the lounge for about a month. For some strange reason some of the girls didn't like it! I thought it was really cool :ph43r:

RedeyesUK - May 22, 2007 09:21 PM (GMT)
I can beat that. :P

There's a guy I know on one of my other forums, he's restoring a spitfire - unfortunately he doesn't have a garage. What he does have is a dining room with french windows. Can you guess where he put the car?

JJW009 - May 22, 2007 09:41 PM (GMT)
LOL!

OK another mate of mine had the Bomb bay doors of a Mosquito stashed behind the sofa. I did have some pictures of the project somewhere, but it was a while ago! I think it was before he had a kid, or at least before he was quite so mobile!

Still no inspiration. :(

I can always go back to Katie.

belchingmatt - May 23, 2007 11:24 PM (GMT)
Well I have some ideas now that I can expand on as we come up to the weekend. I think finding the seed is the hardest point, but when it sprouts then if you nourish it then it naturally finds its path and diverges along the way.

Also, JJ, that Iron picture is great. I have seen, and am seeing many more in that style just recently. As you have already done one can you provide a quick guide?

belchingmatt - May 24, 2007 09:17 AM (GMT)
I've got a sweet idea that may be a little distasteful, but hopefully not to the point of being sick.

paulpowers - May 24, 2007 01:25 PM (GMT)
Awww Why isnt it sick  :(

belchingmatt - May 24, 2007 02:12 PM (GMT)
I'm hoping it will be mentally sick, not just graphically sick as things are with Katie.

Damn she's hot.

Reminds me of a joke in Predator:

The other day, I was going down on my girlfriend, I said to her, "Jeez you got a big pussy. Jeez you got a big pussy." She said, "Why did you say that twice?" I said, "I didn't."

Well maybe not that original but it will do for now. I have finally come to terms with layers on GIMP but I still have to learn the filters. Otherwise Pedobear would blend in better.

In fact I'm almost happy enough with that to use it as an avatar.

Maybe you should think twice about having a Paedobear avatar. Might send out the wrong massage

I think if you just blurred the bear image first it might look more natural. I'm not good with Gimp myself. Layers confuse my fragile little mind, so I tend to stick to my very very old copy of Paintshop 4

Come to mention it is this image alright in here? Perhaps the NSFW board may be better.

JJW009 - May 24, 2007 10:33 PM (GMT)
lol I'm more worried about the bad language than an unholy visitation by a scary bear to a piece of toast

NO it's fine. The NSFW forum is for graphically pornographic, violent or disturbing images. I think your toast is quite safe really. It's not going to set off any flesh-pink jpeg scanners or anything

I have the first 13 films on DVD. I only ever watched the first 5 though, because they progress from Fantastic, through Fantastically cheesy, to Fantastically dire :(

belchingmatt - May 26, 2007 12:17 PM (GMT)
I've sharpened up the edges on that image so I think it looks a little better now. The trouble appeared to be the transform tool. You put one corner where you want it, and by the time you have done the other 3 the first one is out of place again. Anyhoo I took off the excess easily enough, I just couldn't be bothered to do it last night.

As for the films:

1st - :D :D :D
2nd - :D :D :D :D
3rd - :D
4th - :( :coat:

Next I will have to find a way of making decent text images. I prefer to use transparencies as the images look better in whichever forum they get posted on. I know photoshop had some great text features but I haven't found any good ones in GIMP yet.

JJW009 - May 26, 2007 06:04 PM (GMT)
That is really excellent; you either have natural talent or far too much time on your hands

belchingmatt - May 26, 2007 06:09 PM (GMT)
Feel free to post it in the Vista thread at Dennis, but don't mention my name.

I'm thinking about changing the Hellraiser one to use the original film's tagline: It'll tear your soul apart.

belchingmatt - May 26, 2007 10:07 PM (GMT)
Still haven't managed to find anything useful to do with the text, so I need two to show them off properly. Photoshop had some decent filters that if GIMP has I just can't find. At least the text is authentic.

I'm going to do some more tutorial searching and maybe plug-ins before I do anymore. And at least I'm picking up some of the keyboard shortcuts now.

:D

A small revision to each since I found a Hellraiser font when I was looking for text tutorials earlier.

Now I've just had another, thankfully different idea come into my mind. Many other similar things have been done before, but I think at least that this one will be unique.

I may have to put the kettle on. :ph43r:

I've only just realised that I stuffed up the pins at the back of the head, but as it's raining in the image I'll let it go. I don't use the project as I should and merge layers too quickly.

16:00 and I've done zip.

belchingmatt - May 27, 2007 04:38 PM (GMT)
Well most of this has been done before.
