Before I passed my test, I found it pretty difficult to get a bus from Northampton nevermind London. -------------------- |

The buses are not very frequent. There's one at 18:00 if she could catch it. The next one is 18:30 which arrives at 21:45, and the next one is the 21:30 which arrives at 23:25. She'd then need to get a cab or bus to mine. It takes 3 hours to get from her house to mine if your timing is super lucky. If she could get home after work and packed by 7pm, according to "traveline" using the fastest trains she'd arrive at my house at 23:12 - so yes, it's possible. Not much fun though! Suggestion number 1 was to come to MK on Friday and I'd pick her up after work. It's rather short notice though, because she'd have to pack tonight and leave directly from work. It might also be a bit tight on timing because I need to go shopping tomorrow and it's over an hour's driving from office / MK / Tesco / Home. EGL is on holiday tomorrow, so I doubt I'll be able to leave before 6pm. -------------------- |

OK it's decided!
We'll pick up Zabz from MKC after Silverstone. It's about 13 miles in the wrong direction, but it's mostly the A5 so it shouldn't take long if that's OK with everyone? -------------------- |

Glad you had fun, we had a great day too. Thanks for the results link, I shall look it over during my lunch break
On the subject of Saturday, We've hatched a plan for next year We're going to save up and buy weekend tickets and camp over at the circuit for the weekend. That way we can see all the races without feeling like we're missing the paddock stuff, and wander happily around the paddocks without worrying about missing the races. It also means we don't have far to travel and don't have to worry about carrying everything round with us. Does anyone else think that sounds like a good plan? I only mention it now because if you want to, it'll give you time to organise tents etc beforehand, or at least put it in your mind.....or, knowing you lot, perhaps not Anyway, I personally had an amazing day and was so pleased to be able to see such fabulous cars, up close and on the track!! Due to the really quite small distance between Silverstone and my nice comfy bed, I don't think I'll be camping! I might, however, get a weekend ticket next year - I think the trick is go on the Friday and go around the paddock and car club areas before there are any races to miss.
By the way, I found out what happened to cause the GT race to be red flagged: ![]() Ouch! -------------------- |

Just a reminder to all:
Stratford Food Festival It's on the last weekend of September, if anyone's interested in coming. Unfortunately it looks like I'll be working for all of it Interested? Tickets are currently £5 each but I'm sure I can sort out some freebies. -------------------- The idea of life is to slide into the grave with your fuel tank empty, your tyres bald and your brakes on fire.

I think I'm free that weekend, but Zabz is working. Rather sad if everyone else is working that weekend

Fair point.
Looks like it's a no then. If anything changes let me know and I'll see what arrangements I can make. -------------------- The idea of life is to slide into the grave with your fuel tank empty, your tyres bald and your brakes on fire.
